This Substance Is Associated With A Pleasant, Fragrant Odor Resembling That Of Vanilla Beans. It Is Found In Over 40 Common Foods And Is Vitamin K Antagonistic. It Is A Naturally Occurring Anthelmintic (expels Or Destroys Intestinal Parasites). Derivatives Of Coumarin (warfarin, Dicumarol) Reduce The Concentration Of Prothrombin In The Blood And Thereby Increase Prothrombin Or Clotting Time. Commercially, It Is Used In Perfumes, Deodorants, Soaps And Suntan Lotions. It Is Also Used As An Aromatic Ingredient In Such Products As Tobacco, Butter, Inks, Rubber And Medicines.
